Cimcorp founds a new company to develop production automation for solar cell manufacture.

Cimcorp has developed a new production automation system for new generation solar cells based on thin-film technology. The first automation system was installed at the production plant of a German solar cell manufacturer in 2007. Due to the strong growth estimates of the photovoltaics business Cimcorp has decided to incorporate this new business into a separate company. As per 1.1.2008 the new company, CimSolar Oy, has started its operation and Kari Ollila, long time President and CEO of Cimcorp Oy is appointed as President and CEO of CimSolar Oy.

Solar energy demand is forecasted to grow rapidly in the future, especially in Central and Southern Europe and this is expected to create a strong demand on automated manufacturing systems for solar cells. The new company has been founded to ensure sufficient resources needed to meet the challenges of the rapidly developing business.

Cimcorp Oy continues to focus on its core business, development and manufacture of automation systems for the tire and food & beverage industries. Effective January 1st, 2008, COO Markku Vesa is appointed as President and CEO of Cimcorp Oy.
